How I design a new splashback

Published: 20 Jan, 2019

Now that I have some nice photos of a falcon, I want to use these in some new splashback designs. Unfortunately the falcon images are quite small so I’ll need to do some creative work if I want to use these in any large installations.

The images in the above gallery are the ones I want to use in a new design

I know that a standard size for a small splashback is 900mm x 600mm so this is the size I’ll start with. I can use both landscape and portrait style. Now I just need to decide the best colour combinations to use.

Since white is popular in kitchens at the moment I went with a pale coloured design for the landscape style splashback, adding texture to fill in the rest of the area. One of the other images lends itself to a dark green colour, and although it turned out a bit intense for my liking I’ll leave it up as an example of what can be done with smaller images.

These two designs will go up in our design and pattern library
